Cartridge rebuilding requires a trained technician who cares about the quality of his work. Our technicians can spot a minor defect in the light-sensitive coating of a photo conductor drum. We can tell by feel when a screw isn't tightening properly, or when the weight or balance is off.

To rebuild a laser toner cartridge, our technicians;

• Take the cartridge apart and inspect it piece by piece, rejecting components that show fatigue or damage.
• Vacuum old toner from the inside of the cartridge, and use ultrasound to clean key components.
• Replace worn gears and springs.
• Replace the photo conductor drum. This drum transfers the print image from the laser printer's page memory to paper. Drums wear out after one or two reuses. We check drums carefully for cracking and wear. We install either new drums or known good ones that we have coated with our custom light-sensitive formulation.
• Install new regulating and cleaning blades. Each cartridge has at least one metal or rubber blade inside, similar to a windshield wiper. Some have two: one for regulating the amount of toner reaching the drum, and one for scraping excess toner from the drum. Blade angles and tensions are critical for proper operation; we match the manufacturer's specification.
• Fill the cartridge with new graphic-quality toner.
• Reseal the toner reservoir with a new gasket to prevent powder from spilling into your laser printer.
• Reassemble and individually test each cartridge to insure proper functioning.
• Label and date each cartridge, and seal it in a mylar anti-static light-blocking bag.
• Pack each cartridge in a new box with protective inserts to keep it safe during shipping.
• Include installation instructions and a print test from that cartridge in the box.
